The Christmas market in Frankfurt goes back as far as 1393, when they served as a source for the locals to purchase supplies before winter weather conditions started becoming too heavy.

Nowadays, from 26 November to 23 December, you will find more than 200 stalls along the picturesque Römerberg decorated with festive fairy lights, where you can purchase traditional pastries, mulled Glühwein wine and wooden toys, among many other unique gift ideas and Christmas specialty foods.

Each year more than three million visitors flock to Frankfurt to enjoy this city’s Weihnachtsmarkt.

Around the 30-meter Christmas tree, a wide range of entertainment takes place, including concerts, trumpet fanfares from the balcony of St. Nicholas Church and the church carillon.
