If you’re in central Japan this time of year, you have to check out the magical lights of the “Winter Illumination”. Celebrating its ninth consecutive year, the Winter Illumination display is currently exhibiting at Nabano No Sato, a flower park within the Nagashima Resort in Kuwana City (Mie Prefecture).
According to the literature released by the Nagashima Resort (which features among other things, natural hot springs and resort, amusement park, outlet mall, and hotel):
the twinkling lights combine to create a fantastical world stretching out before your eyes. Come and enjoy the gentle, relaxed passing of time here and the atmosphere so different to Nabana no Sato in the daytime.
Known as Japan’s largest light installation, the central feature of the installation is the tunnel of light where tens of thousands of lights illuminate the hundreds of meters to the delight of tourists.
The Nagashima Resort is 20 minutes by bus from Nagoya. The Winter Illumination display runs until 31 March 2013. Park hours are from 9 am to 9 pm, but the exhibit is a very popular tourist attraction so be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends.via Juxtapoz Magazine Official site of Nagashima Resort: Nabana no Sato Winter Illumination
